Heather Simmons, Licensed Wildlife Rehabber
Heather has been working with animals for over 20 years. She has worked at two veterinary hospitals and the Humane Society as a veterinary assistant and foster coordinator. She has always loved animals and knew it was her purpose in life to help them, but neither the hospitals nor the Humane Society felt right. Last year, Heather started fostering for Hancock Wildlife and immediately fell in love with raising wild babies! After fostering for a year, she then attained a wildlife conservation certificate from Purdue University and shortly after, passed her test with a 96% to become a licensed rehabber for the state of Indiana. When she isn’t busy bottle-feeding small creatures every 3-4 hours, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, their three daughters, and grandson.
